Planning and Zoning Division

 

The Planning and Zoning Division of Public Works serves as a liaison between the public and City government. This division interacts with the Mt. Juliet Municipal Planning Commission and the Board of Zoning Appeals, an appointed board of citizens, with providing information and advice to the Board of Commissioners to assist them in making decisions about growth and development of the City of Mt. Juliet stemming from this, the Planning and Zoning Division provides the following specific services:

Provide expertise and technical assistance to the Mt. Juliet Municipal Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, Board of Commissioners and various committees. This technical assistance includes review and processing submittal to these public bodies, to ensure conformance with the city's ordinance and development regulations.

·          Respond to questions from the public related to existing or proposed development.

·          Respond to  questions from the public pertinent to  the Zoning Ordinance

·          Assist the public to obtain information regarding use and development of land in the city.

Whether by telephone or in person, it is our goal to provide prompt, courteous and professional assistance.  We invite the public to call upon us with their inquires regarding such matters as zoning, floodplain management, annexation, land development and property addressing. 

Zoning Administrator hours for Walk-In customers:

 * 8:30 - 11:30am on Monday & Wednesday 

 * 9:30 - 12:30pm on Friday
