The City of Mt. Juliet is continuing to grow everyday and there is an ever-increasing demand for our Criminal Investigations Division (CID). The detectives who comprise our unit interact with our Patrol Division as well as all other state agencies and many federal agencies.  The investigations range from conducting follow-up assistance  to   investigations in sexual assaults, death's, robberies, burglaries, thefts, narcotics, and other felonies.

The division has access to other law enforcement agencies in order to maintain effective criminal investigations.  Agencies such as the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Regional Organized Crime Information Center are utilized when needed to assist.

In addition, an Evidence & Property unit is assigned to this unit. The Evidence & Property unit is responsible for the handling, storage, safe keeping, and disposal of the evidence and property confiscated by officers and detectives. Evidence & Property is also responsible for submitting DNA, narcotics, and fingerprint evidence to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation crime lab for identification purposes.
